The journey of life may be easy, may be hard
They'll be danger on the way.
For Christ is my lord and he's given me his word
That by my side he'll stay

Will you ride, ride, ride with the King of kings?
Will you follow my leader true?
Will you shout 'Hosanna' to the lowly son of God
Who died for me and you?

Ahh primary school assembly memories! :h: I remember most of our songs
"Who put the colours in the rainbow? Who put the salt into the sea?
Who put cold into the snowflake? Who made you and me?
Who put the hump upon the camel? Who put the neck on the
giraffe?
Who put the tail upon the monkey? Who made hyenas laugh?
Who made whales and snails and quails?
Who made dogs and hogs and frogs?

Who made rats and bats and cats?
Who made ev'rything?

Who put the gold into the sunshine? Who put the sparkle in the stars?
Who put the silver in the moonlight? Who made Earth and Mars?
Who put the scent into the roses? Who taught the honey bee to dance?
Who put the tree inside the acorn? It surely can't be chance!
Who made seas and leaves and trees? Who made snow and winds that
blow?
Who made streams and rivers flow? GOD MADE ALL OF THESE!"
This little of light of mine
i'm gonna let it shine
let it shine
let it shine
let it shine :moon:

He's got the whole world in his hands..... loved that one & the hand actions

All things bright & beautiful
all creatures great & small
all things wise and wonderful
the lord god made them all

i liked that one ^

I know this is a christmas carol but "ding dong merrily on high" is the best, i used to love doing an exagerrated "GLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIA"!

amazed i remember all these, haven't sung them in 10+ years
I used to love singing these hymns when I was a kid and still get some stuck in my head now lol to the idiot moaning that you were forced to sing them, I had to sing them too but I'm not religious and not bothered that I had to sing them cos as a kid I loved them. maybe you need to grow up

Yes it is and that's EXACTLY what everyone did when we sang it : )

I think everyone has made this mistake in their lives surprised if anyone who has sung the song hasn't done it once or twice
"I was hungry and thirsty, were you there, were you there? I was hungry and thirsty were you theeeerrrre? And the creed and the colour and the name don't matter, were you there???" Oh, those primary school days, you really, really appreciate them (excluding the hymns and songs ) once you're doing A levels...oh life...

I miss the old primary school hymns so much. I loved every moment of it.

We had a bit of fun singing our own lyrics over the way it was supposed to be done, until our "music teacher" became Gunnery Sergeant Hartman and threatened us with 110 lines

One thing I couldn't understand in my first 2 years of primary school was why the prayers we did at the end of assembly began with "Dear Jesus", as if God was unable to take our call because he was off playing Golf somewhere.
Do u remember "from the tiny ant" and "colours of day" and "shalom".
We used to have an assembly in Friday to practice out hymns for our Tuesday assembly, and we'd give out the wow cup as well! I loved morning has broken for some reason!

Anyone recognise this one:

And did those feet,
In ancient times,
Walk upon England's mountains green?

my school's favourite used to be Autumn Days!

Helping out in Primary schools is the best when getting to sing all the hymns again haha I know a lot of them off by heart still
Shoes so comfy thay they're worn out and they're battered and the taste of apple pie
no I mustn't forget
no I mustn't forget
to say s great big thank you
I mustn't forget
Do any of you know where I can get a hymn book from or what and where to search
"He's got the whole world in his hands!"
I find it ironic my school claimed to be secular yet forced us all to sing those hymns and pray before eating.

Give me oil in my lamp, keep it burning!

Sing Hosana.
Father Abraham had seven sons.

Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green! Strawberries sweeter than any I've seen! Beetroot purple and onions white, all grow steadily day and night! The apples are ripe the plums are red, broadbeans are sleeping in a blankety bed!

Ah, brings back memories.

And did anyone sing the song, something like "I'm going to paint a picture, a world I'd like to see, no more hunger, war or suffering, the way it's meant to be"

Or another one that had something like "onions white, beetroot red"

Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green. Strawberries sweeter than any I've seen. Beetroot purple and onions white, all grow steadily day and night! The apples are ripe, the plums are read! Broadbeans are sleeping in a blankety bed!
Does any remember the title of this hymn book:
It was an A5 size, containing around 400 hymns. Including Shalom.
The cover was a very dark blue with the title on the top in gold.
I want to obtain a copy and if possible the piano music book for this.
I've looked on Google but it appears I haven't got the right name of the book
