English lit - Theme of masculinity

carlsons a good character as he he portays masculinity like at the end when hes like 'whats eating those two' or something showing hes a typical ranch worker who doesnt understand friendship etc and his violent nature, when curleys wife dies he isnt even asked to get his gun but he says "ill get my luger' also he shoots candys dog showing how masculine he is as he felt no remorse and he didnt even take a shovel showing what little feelings he had making him masculine
