Suitable maths book

Hello,

I will sit the MAT test in november later this year. In order to prepare for that test I thought I would go through the A level maths books C1-4 (ps, should I have a look at further maths as well?). I'm considering the following book:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/AS-Level-Maths-Edexcel-Core-Student/dp/1847628117/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1463994588&sr=1-4&keywords=a+level+maths

Do any of you who actually took A level maths have an opinion regarding choice of books or does any book go?

Kind regards,

That Swede

You only need C1 and C2 for the MAT.

Thanks for your reply! That's also what I was told, but I've heard that some parts of calculus in c3-4 can be useful as well. Would you recommend me otherwise? Also do you have an opinion on what books are better/worse?

This year it was useful in one MC question.
Just buy a bostock ccandler pure maths book as that will get you on the verge of thinking about slightly harder maths and prepare you for your a levels.
It is only C1-2 I really reccommend doing BMO1/SMC/STEP I as it helped in 3/4 long questions.

Thanks for your insights. The thing is I'm a Swedish student so I've got no clue regarding the contents of the a level maths courses. Would you still recommend me buying

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pure-Mathematics-1-v/dp/0859500926

instead? I really want to get the hold of all the mathematical "words" and concepts in english and learn any eventual additional parts required in order to be fully prepared for the MAT.
