Can someone draw a picture of the graph where it gave a minimum point and point of inflection?

So is the answer Sometimes True?

If what I said was the question, then yes. If it was what most people think (which it probably was), then no.

What was the 12, x/y.
How did you get that, did you also get x = 12y and do 12y/y = 12?

For that question I got root 12/ 2 * root 3. Anyone know if this is right?

I doubt it tbh. Sorry :frown:

Yeah I got 12.00 for it. Did you?

I got 12, x/y = 12y/y
Same answer, but exactly 12 lol I didn't write 12.00

Haha, that's literally exactly the same as me  but I probably got 0 on the 3D question and I kept rubbing out my graph so it might have been a bit messy

Well done:smile:

Wtaf. I found both exams hard. Im was hoping for an A^ but now Im hoping for an A*

Because it was x^2/y^2 = 12 therefore X/y = root 12
does anyone have an idea of what marks would be for an A*?

Are you sure? :s-smilie:
I dont remember the question lol that's the problem.

I think it is around 117/175
Fantastic. This paper has cost me the A^

Me too, I think. It depends what answers are right, if all these are right - I might scrape A*^ somehow lol, if they are wrong then I'm fked.

What do you think you got in this paper?

Yeah, although I think it went well for me, I am getting very annoyed at people saying it was 'really easy' when it really wasn't! I'm sure you did very well! Enjoy your Summer  + Don't worry too much.

You forgot the question where it told you to draw the graph of the stationary and point of inflection [3].
So, you've got 1 question or something where you've wrote an extra mark lol.

I have the graph answer with the stationary points I think, so there is still two marks left I think....

Maybe I missed the question :s-smilie:

Sorry, didn't see it lol.
I doubt you missed the question - maybe you just can't remember it lol.

I think the question was something like:

A cylinder has radius x cm and height y cm

A hemisphere has radius 6y cm

Their volumes are equal. Work out x/y

The cylinder volume is pi*x^2*y

The hemisphere volume is (2/3)*pi*(6y)^3 = 144*pi*y^3

They are equal so pi*x^2*y = 144*pi*y^3

Cancelling out pi gives x^2*y = 144y^3

x and y are lengths so cannot be zero so x^2 = 144y^2

This is probably unnecessary(x^2 - 144y^2 = 0 (x+12y)(x-12y) = 0 so x = 12y or x = -12y but x and y are lengths and if x = -12y, one of them would be negative which is impossible, so)

x = 12y

x/y = 12y/y = 12

I probably won't remember it for a few weeks knowing me

Oh yeah, that's what I done lol.
