I Never Want to Go Out

Basically as the title suggests I never really want to go out and I am 18 when obviously people go out the most.

I have always been like this and have never been to a single party and just turning 18 I can now legally drink but once again I've never really wanted to go to the pub I think that's partly to do with seeing the effects of drinking personally.

I have a full time job now and when I'm not working I like to spend my spare time on my guitar and am hoping to join a band as I know a few people who would be interested and am hoping to buy a car soon and I am not going to college or Uni because I want to join my works management programme instead.

I just don't know what to do I've just never really wanted to go out to parties or go drinking and I'm worried I'm portrayed as weird because of it but like I have already said it's just not my thing. Although I don't have a massive amount of friends I still have a few I'm close to and I am wanting to patch relationships up with some people.
Not everyone at uni is a party animal or a socialite so you won't be seen as weird or a loner if you decide not to partake in the university madness. Just make sure you actually socialise some and not be completely anti social.

Universities have plenty of people just like you so you won't be alone. You'll make friends who won't bother you when they want to go partying but will be around when they just want to relax. You'll make friends who could become your future band mates, who just like to have jamming sessions when not asleep, at work or in lectures. Don't worry yourself too much as you'll soon find those that are like you (people who prefer to avoid the big party scene etc).

Just make sure you stay open minded to the odd social cos if you don't socialise a little how you going to find potential band mates?
I'm the same. I don't particularly like partying, clubbing or dancing and going to the pub and drinking is something I do very rarely and only to see my friends who go there. I will drink socially 1-2 glasses and then leave it at that, feeling drained by the social interaction.

Nobody should ever make you feel weird for not wanting to do these things and if they do then they're not worth your time. Not everyone in their youth has to go out and do what all their friends are doing if they don't want to. There are people like you, it's just that we're all at home haha :P

My advice? Message the people you want to patch up with (people you're comfortable with I presume?) and suggest a mini outing in the day-time that doesn't involve activities that make you uncomfortable. Perhaps there's a bowling alley or a cinema nearby? As Quintilius says as well, you will hopefully make some like-minded friends in your band too.

Thanks good to see I can relate to someone. Definitely going to patch things up.
I don't think there's anything wrong with that. We've reached a time where it's become the norm to go out and drink when actually you don't have to, it's just something the majority are doing and by going along with it, you're conforming. I'd say use that time you could be going out and drinking to focus on your hobbies, meeting new people similar to etc. The money you save from not going out snd drinking you can spend on more useful things
