Essay writing skills (Undergraduate first year level)

Hey,

I'm rather worried about my essay writing skills, I want to achieve a 1st at University, but I feel that my essay writing skills at the moment are severely lacking. What do you believe is the best way to get really good at essay writing within a 12 month period?

Practice.

I believe most unis offer workshops for essay writing skills, also.

Well, I've moved into my house in the area, I don't start lectures until the 28th.

So, I haven't really interacted with any students or spent much time on the campus.

I'm actually about to head back home for a week for a work experience placement, so I'm missing freshers week, lol.
