I have heard it is very competitive. But one thing you should be aware, is that York Psychology is very biology/neurologic based, so if you prefer more like clinical/educational/development approach, you should think about other unis.
It is competitive and they do normally like applicants to have two science A Levels, plus a grade B in GCSE maths

Edit - as for clinical/educational/development side of things, there is an education module (or at least there was in my 3rd year), a module on disorders of language and cognition and two clinical psychology modules, all of which are 3rd year options
