Sutton Bonnington is very much outside of Nottingham. There are hopper busses to university park and jubilee campuses though. As for nearest town's nightlife, i'd hazard a guess that it's possibly closer to go to Loughborough than Nottingham.

I am based predominantly at University park, so someone else may be better at answering your question.

Only been to SB once and that was a few weeks back with TEC - Sutton Bonington seems to be in the middle of nowhere , it's probably nearer to East Midlands Airport than Nottingham itself.Campus seems quite nice although quite small in scale compared to Jubilee and University Park.

As said before there's regular buses to SB from University Park on the hour which I think also stop at the City Centre.

haha yea i played football at Sutton Bonington just a couple of weeks ago for a team in the local Loughborough league..
got very confused crossing the 'border' into Notts!!
Haha, a few weeks ago I tried to order a pizza from Dominos and they told me they wouldn't deliver to BGP! I was like WTF??! Then I realised the number I called was from my local Dominos in Birmingham.

Just thought I'd add that to the discussion, I know nothing about SB, sorry!

I thought it was you who sent me the mail on Facebook?! Maybe it was someone else lol

It's bad really but to be honest I never use it, they should make it a place people want to come! They should stick a little pizza place in it where people can come and order for takeaway or sit in the bar with mates and have it - a little kitchen with a serving hatch knocking out cheap pizzas at £4 a time, I think it'd be a really popular choice compared to getting it from Dominos or a cheapo place in lenton or Beeston.

To be honest, I don't know why the bar is so unpopular, any ideas?

Edit: Why are all my posts based around pizza?

I've been on SB for 2 years now and I absolutely love it!
Yes, it is about 10 or so miles outside of Nottingham but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The hopper bus runs quite regularly, and we're currently campaigning to get even more buses! The JCR also runs buses to clubs in Nottingham on nights out so we don't have to pay for taxis to get home. Lots of people also go out in Loughborough so I guess we have the best of both worlds!
On the pizza front (it appears this is an important issue!?!)don't worry, you can order from Mama Janes which delivers to SB for free!
With regards to the campus itself, there's a great community feel that doesnt appear to exist in other halls. Basically this is because as SB is a campus, all the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years get to know the freshers and we all socialise together, which I really like.

Hope this has helped a bit, if you have any more questions/want to know anything else feel free to PM me!

I am considering living on Sutton Bonington next year but im still really unsure about what socials is going to be like there. Is it worth living on University Park campus and travelling to SB everyday and back if you want a good social life?

Hi!

Sorry for the epically late reply - I did try emailing you back, but it didn't work!?
If you're based on SB next year, I really wouldn't live on UP. Simply because I think you'll miss out on a lot of the social side on SB, because you'll be stuck to bus timetables etc

With regards to the SB social scene, I'm in my 2nd year now, and particularly this year, it's been excellent. We've had silent discos, accoustic nights, roller discos and there's always the good ol' SB friday night partys, which are held every week. We also have a formal dinner/after party about once a month. And if that's not enough - it's really easy to go out in Nottingham, which we all do regularly, and the JCR put on buses to help get eveyone back.
As long as you get involved, there's always plenty to do!

I hope this has helped a little - feel free to email me again if you need any more info and hopefully I'll be seeing you next year!
