I rung back again to try and get back my appointment tomorrow and they had already given it away! :/ So I have to wait until 11th March! :/

People obviously have had lumps on their chin.. But lumps can be caused by anything, so the question is completely redundant. I get that you came on here to quell your anxiety about cancer...but what the **** do you want us to write? "Its definitely not cancer because I had a lump and it went away".
Go the doctor and stop posting on this thread. No useful information apart from the urgency of this appointment can be gleaned from this thread.

You're obv. not very bright - in my original post, I simply asked if anyone had a lump under their chin like the one I am trying to describe - BUT people have decided to focus on the appointment aspect of my post which is NOT what I am asking.

I WILL continue to post in this thread, after all I created it! :/

PS: Its not ON the chin, its UNDER the chin! . . . .
Asking medical advice on the internet = NEVER a good idea. According to most horror stories, no matter how small your injury you will die from it.

Chill for the time being, check if it gets bigger and go to the next appointment. It might not be anything to worry about, but it's safer to check.
I panicked over a lump recently at the back of my neck, only to find out it was a gland and nothing to worry about. However, it could have been worse. You can't be sure until you seek medical help so there is nothing you can really do about it now.
oh! such a dastardly plan

 LoL Im not asking for medical advice on the internet - never ever would I ask tsr for that because its just a bunch of students with a variety of opinions. All I was asking from my main post was - has anyone else had a pea sized lump under their chin? That is all I was asking! :frown:

My next appointment isn't until 11th March now. So mum has said to watch it and see what happens. If it changes or etc I will go to the GP immediately. As lumps, bumps and whatnot are things definately not to fool around with or ignore. I didn't even know I had it tbh until Dentist decided to feel under my chin. :/ It might even be tension/stress as I get that a lot due to uni work load and etc. Or it might simply be because of the head cold I had that lasted for 4weeks+.

I do appreciate your post though. Thanks.

Hey,

So I went to my dentist a few weeks ago, had my usual dental check and he decided to feel under my chin! (I have no idea why :dontknow:). He discovered a pea size lump to which I never knew existed. He started feeling it and etc asking me if it hurt and etc to which I replied no. So he said that he'd refer me to a specialist at the hospital to get it checked out.

Had a letter come through on Saturday for an appointment tomorrow - however I can not attend as it clashes with my volunteering. I rung up an hour ago to try and change the appointment, talking to the receptionist who said ''this is urgent''! . . .:s-smilie: Due to commitments and unable to find a suitable appointment the receptionist said he'd ring the secretary and find me another appointment . . .

Now . .im just wondering - does anyone else have a pea sized lump under their chin? Does it hurt? have you been referred to a specialist by your dentist/gp? . . . .I have internet searched and a lot of people have said ''its just the lymph node'' . . .but im now quite curious as to what the heck it may be . . or if it really is only my lymph node that has come up due to univeristy stress/tension? . .

A couple of years ago I had a few glands permanently risen including one pea sized lump under my chin. I was tested for all sorts of gruesome diseases, infections and dysfunctions including cancer. All the tests turned out negative and I still have my lump under my chin! Its probably nothing but worth checking out even if just for peace of mind. Hope this helps

Yeah I've got one atm - I presume its linked to an infection I had a couple of weeks ago, but I've been on antibiotics and its definatley smaller... I also tend to get them if I have a bad cold, cold sore... Try not too worry too much!
Hey Dancing Ballerina I also have the same problem but stumbled upon this conversation and didn't realise how serious it actually was, but I can ensure you if the doctor said that to you then I most certainly will be going to the doctor myself tomorrow morning..
