University Subject Puzzle

Hey there,

I'm fairly new (have lurked for a while) and needed help so I thought I would post as people on here seem to normally have good advice.

Basically I took a couple years out after uni (the first voluntarily, the other forced) and then tried to start last year on a social sciences course. The course didn't suit me, I was lead to believe it was more flexible than it was and also something else was niggling at me that's I couldn't put my finger on so I ended up leaving at the beginning.

Now I have applied for straight sociology this year and received three offers but I am now having doubts about the subject. I have looked in to HRM and Business related courses. I think I want a degree to lead me somewhere as I feel too old now (will be 22 shortly after starting this September) to go for any old degree and want to start a direction in life. I believe this may have been the niggling doubt I felt about the other course.

Is this a silly notion? I haven't done a business style course before and haven't done maths since school.

Has anyone any advice on subject choices and what made them choose theirs?

Should I just choose an open course other than sociology that would be less specialised than Human Resource Management or Business Admin etc?
What universitys have you got offers from? Could you confirm one with the aim to switch courses at the beginning of next year if you don't like sociology??
So you think I should just go for sociology? I'm guessing it would be hard to near impossible to change to a business course from that.

I got offers from City London, Oxford Brookes and Kent.
It would probs be fine if ur grades were suitable, Manchester let me switch from Geography to Law and those r quite different. I know several people at Kent and they all love it, where r u swinging towards?
Not sure at the moment to be completely honest, though Kent is starting to appeal to me as it is regarded better than Brookes and there would be no way City would let me into their super Business School with my grades!
