http://www.ndr.de/ ? I don't know about newspapers but I imagine thats quite good for news (I can't read German but I use TF1 for French news, and they're both national broadcasters in their respective countries so I imagine NDR has a good news section  )

That's regional (Norddeutscher Rundfunk). www.ard.de or www.zdf.de are the two BBC-esque broadcasters.

There's something about having a paper-copy of a newspaper that is really quite unique and valuable. However, the Internet is excellent for any sort of foreign language aspect, which is why we are all so lucky. Access to foreign TV and news over the internet is amazing for learners these days.

I live near Liverpool, and there is an excellent newsstand, which stocks French papers: Le Figaro, Le Monde, Spanish: El País, El Mundo and I've seen the occassion La Republicca (Italian). I might have seen a few German ones. All the big cities have somewhere which sells foreign papers. They're usually around £1.50 per paper.

Good luck finding somewhere!

WHSmith usually sells foreign language news paper, the one in Cardiff stocks a selection of foreign newspapers so I'd assume some others would too, they're usually hidden under other newspapers though
