ucas track/clearimg help pleaseeee!!

My boyfriend was accepted at leeds met but decidded he wanted to go to manchetser met.

He rang both unis and leeds said if he emailed them asking to be released they would release him so he did that and they replied saying he'd been released.

At first manchester said they would know when he had been released and confirm his place on ucas track so to keep checking, yesterday they said he needs to go on ucas track himself and add them as his clearing choice.

We tried to do that but it is still saying leeds is his firm choice and we cant find an option to add a clearing choice. Does this mean leeds havent actually released him?

We're getting a bit worried that if this doesnt get sorted soon manchester wont have a place left for him!

It means that, somewhere along the line, the release hasn't been processed yet - either Leeds Met haven't put it through yet, or UCAS hasn't displayed it on his Track.

The key is communication in this situation. First, get back onto Leeds Met to tell them that it's not showing up yet; if they confirm all is well on their end, phone UCAS and see what the hold-up is. In the meantime, tell Manchester Met that he's going to back taking up their offer, but getting released is taking longer than he thought.

When is his deadline to reply to Manchester Met?

Hey,

If he has a firm choice you will need to Register for 'Adjustments'.
Clearing does not apply for people holding an offer which is a 'Firm Choice'. So you will need to register on adjustments on the UCAS track.

Let Manchester know after you have registered for this, and ensure that you state clearly that it is Adjustments and not clearing.

It should be taken from there hopefully.

Good luck!

Absolutely wrong.

You can get released from your 'confirmed' uni, and then use Clearing. Adjustment is only for people who over-achieved their offer; anyone not holding an offer can use Clearing.
