I saw it today and it's pretty much what you expect from a disaster type movie, as in you kind of know what to expect from the dialogue and should accept conveniences throughout. I will say though that Alexandra Daddario was a bit of a distraction, although that's just True Detective playing in the background :colondollar:

I'll be honest i didn't mind 2012 as i ended up just accepting it for what it was, however i will say that i bought into Dwayne Johnson more than i did with John Cusack.

New one I'm guessing. It's dreadful.

Ah, that's disappointing. I really wanted it to be good.

Unfortunately, the family is really unlikeable - and that's a shame for me, too, because I'm a massive fan of Rockwell.

Had to look him up, I've only seen him in the green mile. I have no idea who the other people are.

Was the film scary/jumpy at all?

Moon. Great idea, great mood, Sam was superb, but in the end it didn't quite work.

Director Duncan Jones is son of Bowie.

c.7.9421/10

That's not too bad. Will let you know how I find it later.

I have it on DVD, I saw it then bought it and I have also watched it several times and I do like it, it's just that it was a fantastic slow build up, AND THEN at the big reveal it fizzled out, was a bit of an anti-climax.... Like they didn't know how to end it....

Other than that it was 10/10 and in parts 11/10....

Sam was superb, but also loved Kevin Spacey! And the mood of it was 12/10.

The one scary bit (which involved Rockwell looking at his reflection in the tap) was on the trailer, so I was left disappointed.
Menace II Society- 7/10.
The Last Stand - 5/10

Margin Call - 7/10

Valhalla Rising - 6/10
The DUFF - 7/10
San Andreas. Gets a 7/10 because of the stunning visual effects, there is a lot of disaster porn on display here. Otherwise the family drama is incredibly predictable; you will have seen the same thing loads of times before, the main character (Dwayne Johnson) is an idiot and decides to steal a helicopter that could used to rescue people and go and get his family instead (what a role model) and the screenplay is full of clunky dialogue. The biggest problem though is that they take this silly film that is meant to be dumb fun very seriously. Literally no one is in on the joke and it is played completely straight faced the whole way through. Disaster films can't get away with this unless they are Titanic . And this really isn't.
