2006 entry open day advertisements

Some of my friends are on a gap year and they got accepted by the university to study in 2006 (applied for deferred entry). For some reason, they recieve 2006 entry open day advertisements. How come? :confused:

From the uni in question? That will be called communication, keeping your deferees happy and feeling upto date.

If it's via UCAS, they do this as all they have is an address and that your application is still active - you end up on their mailing list...
