what would i need to bring specifically to NOTTINGHAM UNI?

It's a guidance. Only an idiot would take literally EVERYTHING from that list to uni. Most people would forget small things like an air freshner, or others might be thinking of what decorative items to take and after looking at the list might decide to take some plants or a lava lamp.

Listen, I'm Muslim myself. I don't think there'll be loads of problems. I'm thinking of joining the Islamic society and if you are from Malaysia, you can join the Malaysian and Singaporean Society as well. I'm from Pakistan and would join the Pakistan society.

Just make sure you are not a boring person. That's all really. I don't know how 'strict' of a Muslim you are, but if you don't drink, that's no problem at all. A lot of people won't drink. Just make sure you still have fun by doing other amazing things. Look at the list of societies to get an idea of what you could join and participate in.

i don't really go with them when they go drinking, or when they do go to the pub or something, i just buy myself a coke or something else. It's not really hard unless they are 100% gone (i.e. Fully drunk), which hasn't happened with me so far. So, it's not hard at all going out with them.

I'm not at uni yet, but will be studying Civil Engineering.
