Just had four teeth removed!

I have just had four teeth removed, two yesterday and two today, in order to get braces :l

I had a slightly overcrowded mouth of teeth but now I just have four massive gaps and i'm not too happy about it :L

has anyone else had a similar procedural and did the braces completely fix it?

I had 15 (I **** you not) teeth removed over my childhood for the exact same reason you did, overcrowding. Then I had a brace for years. Now my smile is straight and beaming  Have faith, you'll look great
I think it's standard procedure, and yes, the braces will fill the gaps.
During my orthodontic treatment I had to have a total of 10 teeth (a few baby teeth included) taken out in the space of one year

Yes, braces do completely fix it and it is very worth it.
I've had my braces just over a year, and had 3 teeth taken out  Two on the bottom near the front due to overcrowding, and one of my sevens (molar at the very back on the top, plus I actually had braces on by that point). My wisdom tooth had impacted it in my jaw.. I even had the option to go under general anaesthetic for that one, but I went local instead. I'm not usually that brave! And I won't go into too much detail... did however need two rounds of injections. :s-smilie:

Forgot to add, I still have my braces, but the gaps at the front are definitely closing quickly, and all my teeth are straight. Just need to align them now

I had 4 teeth taken out for braces. Everything fitted nicely.. well i say that... there's just this one tooth that seems to be off a millimetre or 2 or so inwards, and I can feel it all the time against my tongue. Annoys the hell out of me, but nevermind  I'm also getting wisdom teeth now and luckily it doesn't seem I'll need to get them removed since they seem to be fitting in nicely.

i still have 10 of my baby teeth and a couple of years ago the dentist said he needs to remove them, i told him to p!ss off and i havent gone back since
I'v e had four wisdom teeth out to make space for crowding. 2 back top teeth out and they slowly adjusted the brace slowly over a year and a half till they filled up the gap again. In the end when your teeth are nice and straight your'll be happy.

Had exactly the same, and braces sorted them very well.

I had 4 teeth out, and braces, and my teeth are perfect now.
Yep, I had exactly the same  It was wierd at first with the gaps, but as soon as you get your braces the gaps will close before you realise it  I just remember the great wads of cotton wool stuff in my mouth.... *shudders*

Oh, and pride yourself in being braver than me... I was so nervous about having the procedure I ended up being reffered to a specialist dentist! I went and was given an injection to make me all relaxed and sleepy, so they then took all four out at once, I think.... I don't remember a thing!

EDIT: Oh, and of course, my teeth are lovely now too

Been there :colonhash:, not pretty (or painless) at first but the braces will fix it.

Over the years I have had 8-10 teeth removed to prepare for braces. I got two of my premolars on my top set of teeth removed a couple of months ago for braces, so I have two nice big gaps showing every time I smile. Attractive. I have braces on now, and they still have to attach brackets to another pair of teeth which are too far back, to bring them forward to fill the gaps.

It'll all get sorted out eventually - don't worry! One of my friends had two teeth taken out near the front of her mouth as well to make room for braces. She's now got her braces off and her teeth look perfect! The orthodontists sort it out - don't worry.

I had to get four teeth taken out for braces, and I'm getting two wisdom teeth out when they start growing in to stop any overcrowding happening again. The gaps do fill in!
I've tried that I have a gap between my teeth, but then I've found my solution. Orthofill is my best choice because it helped me to fix my gap teeth and now I'm confident to show my smile. #howtofixgapteeth
