Classics? English? Acomodation? Higher history?SO MANY QUESTIONS

I have two conditional offers from glasgow - one for classics, one for englit - both requiring three a's and a b.
Which is the better course/what are the courses like? I want to do something orientated around writing in then distant future, and read a horrific amount as it is - would i overdose on english?:s-smilie:
What's the best Glasgow Uni accomodation?
Also I took higher history this year, but due to 'teacher and course complications' I'm in need of good material for the USA and Britain 1845 -1945 topics - plus anything else that could be useful.
Any other advice in general?
Thaanks all.
