Course D216: Economics and the Changing Economies

Hi All,

I have managed to get an extension to register for this course until the
end of January 2002 by which time I would have to decide whether I would
like to pursue it or not.

I would appreciate any advice, experiences or words of wisdom from
anyone who has taken this course previously. Since I am new to the OU
method of study I would like to know in particular how many hours
previous students actually put in per week for this course (the OU
recommends 16 hours for this 60 point course) and how difficult it was.

Also, I have not done economics beyond GCSE level (although I am used to
academic study i.e. A'levels and a Degree) so I am a bit concerned about
getting into this new subject except that I have always wanted to know
how economics governed our daily lives and the world at large! I am also
interested in people who have completed a diploma in Economics used it
for, with particular regards to their careers.

Any other advice and experiences anyone would like to share with me
about this course would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Shay
