King Creosote + M.Craft Fri 24th Feb

KING CREOSOTE

Up until only last year, King Creosote (aka Kenny Anderson) was little known beyond the confines of his own town, Fife, belonging to that influential group of bohemian musicians, The Fence Collective. However, that has all been changing and fast. His latest album, KC Rules OK, has earned rave reviews from all quarters.

His music is a weird and wonderful amalgam of folktronica, country, west coast rock - vaudeville, quirky bohemian nonsense and heartfelt melodies. And KC sings with the most sweetly accented Scottish intonation you're likely to hear, his voice pouring like runny honey over his songs.

KC will be performing along with members of the Fence Collective such as The Pictish Trail and On The Fly. He’s a gem which has only just recently been unearthed, but he demands attention. He’s the sort of singer/songsmith/musician that audiences the world over desperately need in their lives - even if they don't know it yet.

M.CRAFT

M. Craft (aka Martin Craft) writes and sings songs that have a timeless quality, songs that could easily be performed alone with a beat-up acoustic guitar. But it’s the clever arrangement twists, the layers of warm, fuzzy instruments, loops and vocal harmonies that make him stand out from the boring coffee-table crowd.

There are hints of disco and bossanova, bits of folk and country. It’s a melange of late-night tales, fuzzy beats and warm melodies that creep into your mind in a thoroughly satisfying way. He likens his music to sprinkling a kind of happy or sad dust on the world.

THEE NEERLYMEN

Thee Neerlymen are a dynamic three-piece from Preston. They play a loose groove of lo-fi indie rock comparable in places to the likes of Camper Van Beethoven, Violent Femmes and The Silver Jews, with moments of Johnny Cash thrown in for good measure.

They've been playing up and down the country for the past few months and also run The Bad Apple Club, Preston’s most alternative monthly club night.

MARTIN CHITTY

This Scouse student is a firm favourite of ours having graced the Feedback stage on many occasions. Whether on his own, dueting with that other darling of the local music scene, Kr!ss Foster, (check out the ludicrously brilliant ‘Dale Winton’), or fronting The English Tea, Martin brings his own inimitable style and charisma to the proceedings.

He recently played great sets on the amazing Thomas Truax gigs, earning glowing praise from the maestro himself! This is a guy with a wonderful voice and great songs.
