Honours

Hi everyone.

I was just wondering about honours in my M.A in English lit.

What would happen if I chose NOT to do honours? In not doing
Honours how long would it take to complete my degree?

Basic stuff I know, was just Hopi someone could fill me I .
Cheers!

Three years to be awarded the degree without honours i.e. you'd be clavicle12 M.A. rather than Clavicle12 M.A (Hons).

If you left before that you'd probably get a diploma. I think that realistically getting the non-honours degree is a little pointless.

Most graduate schemes and employers will be looking for a 2:1 when you're applying for jobs. If you don't have that you just won't be eligible. Perhaps you have a job lined up now but this would be likely to come up again in a few years. It's significantly better to just get a decent honours degree than drop out.

I apologise. You're absolutly correct I'm sure. I just found out that I don't need honours for what I plan to do. Thanks for the info though!
