What is the difference between English and Scottish universities?

    What is the difference between English and Scottish universities?
    In Scotland, degrees are four years and in England, three years. Why is that?

    Because of the different pre-university education systems.

    Scottish education is more broad, some Unis allow you to study three subjects through second year.

    Is it not also something to do with the fact that we have 2 terms a year and English unis have 3? (or is this not the case across the board?)
