Cheers, looks nice, but they're not skinny enough & I hate button fly.

Plus there's no way I can afford that

Does anybody have any ideas on jeans that will have room in the thighs whilst still giving a nice cut in the calves and not being ridiculously baggy in the waist? Around £100 budget.

How much room do they have in the thigh? I have a rugby build in the thighs and have never been able to find a pair that is a good and comfortable fit.

My friend was in a similar position to you and seems impressed with his 508's, they provide lots of room above the knee, and gather at the knee, giving a tighter fit on the lower leg. Worth trying them on

A short wouldn't go close unless you have obscenely short arms for your height.

Try this guy:- http://www.thestyleblogger.com/ isn't as 'costumey' and ridiculous as most of the stuff out there.

Can you get your money back if you order off the website as there isn't a Levis in Liverpool anymore.

Personally I'd say no to the coat, but yes to everything else

Fashion blogs are a load of crap, just wear stuff that looks sensible, suits your style and you feel comfortable in

Do you have no taste of your own?

The raincoat is perhaps a little too dark. It would look better and would be more versatile in a lighter grey. It also wouldn't hurt if you found an alternative that went down to just above the knee, rather than ending at the top of the thigh.

The blazer has two flap pockets on the chest--I personally think that makes it look like crap, like it can't decide whether it's a blazer or a safari jacket. A blazer looks best with a single pocket on the left hand side. The material composition is better than you'll find on Topman, but that doesn't make it the better choice.

Also, I'm 6' 1" and I usually have to buy Long sized stuff; on the rare occasion that I buy a 34L blazer/suit jacket with sleeves that are too long, I can simply have it altered.

Nothing terribly wrong with the shoes, but for £20-£30, don't expect them to last and don't be surprised if they look worse than the photographs when they arrive at your door.

Don't rush things. You don't need to order an entire wardrobe overnight. Be patient, keep an ear to the ground and an eye on the sales. Go out and try a bunch of stuff on in a department store or a high street retailer, see what suits you in your opinion and then search for better alternatives online. Spend only when you're confident that you like what you're buying.

In regards to taste of my own i did say before i'm new to all this, and i'm making quite a drastic fashion change, hence why i'm needing others opinions, as i don't want to buy stuff i will regret for example. So yeah i'm finding trying to build a new style fairly difficult so appreciate all what you're saying there for example

Despite working for Banana Republic and having a tonne of stuff from them, I'm going to have to say no to the coat and blazer; the coat would definitely benefit from being another colour, and the blazer doesn't look like the photo in real life (it's a little shiny and too chunky to be honest).

We got the second batch of the transitional collection in a few days ago, and it is just awful. 90% of it won't shift at all until the Christmas sale now  I'm hoping the Autumn/Winter collection is better.

Nice one

What sort of stuff do you think plays to BR's strengths then? Also, i really like the shoes i can see the models wearing on the website, though cannot find anywhere how to buy shoes on there... Not links for shoes at all...

I should have clarified, the shoes i posted earlier, are all sale shoes. So for example these (http://www.tkmaxx.com/mens-shoes+boots/dark-grey-suede-shoes/invt/27017495/) despite being £32 apparently used to be £95 and the other one i posed had a hefty reduction too. Worth going for moreso now that it used to be more?

Any good styling websites/good clothing sites to check regularly aside from something like asos also i would be interested in.

Thanks a load to everyone who's replied to me on here again, really helps!

Same thing with Next. I thought most of the summer stuff was pretty bad, and we ended up putting most of it in the sale (at more than half price). Although I think that may have had something to do with the weather as well

Our Autumn-Winter stuff is lovely though. I'm going to really enjoy using my discount. We've got some lovely sweats in...

Try department stores to get a check on the fit. Also by EU law any online sales you can return for a cash refund within 28 days, don't even need a reason can simply not like something. In many ways you're better off buying online if you think you might want to send it back.
Love this thread, cheered me right up!

BR's Heritage collection tends to be the strongest, but the problem with BR in general is that not everything makes it onto the website - shoes for example are only sold in stores. Sweaters, cardigans and polos/tees are all pretty good, but chinos/jeans tend to be pretty traditional in terms of fit (i.e. if you want anything remotely slim or skinny then look somewhere else). Also you may want to try sizing down, i.e. if you are normally a medium then try a size small, as the sizing is bigger than other British/European brands.

Yeah we've been selling more coats and sweaters than shorts or sandals, although there are still a fair amount of people hoping for some glimpse of a summer :mmm:

I just wish the weather would make its mind up. I want to either wear light summery clothes or wear something warm, as it stands now I end up either drowning in sweat or freezing my ass off :colonhash: At least in winter I know how to dress myself!

Would something like a navy cardigan go well with a light blue oxford shirt? Something like this: http://tinyurl.com/7p823c8

And also, so I don't end up JUST wearing cardigans, what other garments work well on top of collared shirts? (except blazers, I'll have the odd one but I wouldn't wear them frequently)

I'm a newb I know!

Thanks for pointing that out. Was it this one?

It might be, mine looks slightly darker but that could just be the way it looks on the site, I'd recommend them from river island, both of the ones I have fit great and feel well made
