Accomodation for insurance students at Soton

Judging from how well my A-levels have gone so far, it's looking more likely that I will end up at Southampton (my insurance choice university).

I read somewhere on their website that insurance students get a guarantee of accomodation, but you will be in a twin shared room for up to 6 weeks. :/

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of going through this process? How long did you end up having to share a room for?

Private rented accomodation is also an option as well I suppose.

I am a southampton student and this is off the accommodation website
''If you are an undergraduate student and have made the University of Southampton your Insurance choice you are covered by the guarantee as long as you submit an application by 1st August, and you will be offered a space in a twin shared room. On arrival in Halls you will be asked to complete a transfer form and you will be prioritised for a single room as soon as one becomes available.''
