Hey guys, year 12 here  Just wanted to say good luck with all you're exams, coursework's, ISA's etc (you know the drill..). My advice is just live for the summer of about 8 weeks of nothingness  and just ignore all the year 12s and 13s who will start writing crap about how GCSEs dont matter on twitter in the summe, because guarantee half of them were sweating it for theirs

Wouldn't the office pass it on to him/her?

Hopefully, they said they would try and sort it out
Just came back from a sixth form tour. It was ok. Didn't amaze me. Probably, it's my third back up/fourth choice

:facepalm2: I just feel bad for these girls. Their parents and this company make them think they're good singers :colonhash:

Anyone got anything planned for today?

My friend and her boyfriend are hosting a halloween party tonight, and beforehand another friend is coming over to do makeup/get ready - we're gonna go as siamese twin cats

Other than that, I gotta get through my 19 homeworks at some point :s-smilie:

It feels like I've been gone so long, even though it's probably been like 2 days since I've been on xD

Can someone explain to me how the honours system works in the UK? Like if I got a joint honours degree, would it be like taking two degrees at once or? cluelessss.

In other news, my geography teacher is still a ****.

Just having this conversation... You can major and minor in two things or I'm exceptional circumstances major.in two...

Cambridge however will not have a joint honours per se

I'm not clued up with the technicalities...

As far as I'm aware, an honours degree is just a really good 1st, whether you take a joint-subject degree or not

That's the only reason why I believe American universities are better. Their join honours system is very good.

No, they're really broad but not in depth.

So say I wanted to take a science but also philosophy? Like would I be able to?

This is very true. My old geo teacher was an American who'd studied in both the USA and England, and he said that the American system is very broad and allows you more freedom, whilst the UK system is very specific and makes you specialise.

Depends on the University but it's a common practise

 it's very true

I've never seen a Science + Philosophy degree, but I'm sure they exist  As far as I've seen, it's mostly a combination of a science, maths and a language
