Manchester Metropolitan University - Word count allowances?

Hi all,

I am currently doing an assignment which includes a portfolio and summary report, with the report there is a word limit of 1200 words, to my knowledge there is a 10% word allowance on assignments at MMU? I currently have gone 30 words over this allowance if it exists, I remember last year I was allowed 10% over, though I am in the second year now and wondering if the goal posts change since as how the work is harder and higher expectations are placed on students? I calculated the word limit at 1320 with the 10% allowance, I have got 1350. Does anyone know at MMU whether my thinking is right on the matter? Or any other students? If it helps I do Business Information Technology undergraduate course.

Look in your handbook/online. The info should be there. You're still over the 10% allowence anyway so you need to cut it down.
