Anthropology: what's it like?

I'm really interested in social anthropology for university; I've read books about it and done the whole extensive googling thing, so I'm pretty sure I know it's what I want to study. I'm not interested in becoming a social anthropologist by profession, though.

Just wanted to get first-hand accounts of what it's really like and how it might differ from common concepts? Career prospects? Things you wish you'd known before taking it? Also the US vs UK thing for university choices haha :colondollar:

Basically tell me allllll about it :biggrin:
