Courses in London like Anthropology and Law at LSE

I'm not sure if I want to apply for Anthropology and Law, or just Anthropology at LSE. Also if I want to do A & L, then what other courses are similar to those? Any advise/thoughts, please reach out
Anthropology and Law is pretty much unique to LSE across the whole UK. There are a few other places you can potentially combine the subjects in London and elsewhere (SOAS is the only one I can think of offhand though), but unlike LSE they aren't qualifying law degrees (QLDs) for the purposes of qualifying as a barrister then (may be less of an issue for becoming a solicitor as you will just take the SQE anyway).

For anthropology there are lots of courses - just search for "social anthropology" in UCAS as these will be most similar to LSE (which focuses exclusively on social/cultural anthropology) :smile:There are also some courses which include biological/physical anthropology as well as social/cultural anthropology (such as UCL's anthropology degree) and others which focus on these specifically (such as the evolutionary anthropology course at Liverpool).

I just got in lse a&l this year- I think LSE really stands out with it being a qualifying degree and having a great blend of the two (instead of it being a law degree with an anthro specialism, for example) but here are some similar courses UK unis offer that I came across while researching:
- BA law and sociology Warwick
- BA law and anthropology Kent
- LLB law and social anthropology Edinburgh/ SOAS
Hope this helps!
Did you write your personal statement for just law and anthropology? I want to apply to other law courses but will most likely be rejected because my personal statement has elements of anthropology in it. Could I email LSE my personal statement separate from my UCAS?
I don't think so mate, as far as I'm aware you have to apply through UCAS and the same you only have 1 PS or for all your choices. Maybe try to find an overlap of law and Anthropology?? There are sommmme other places that offer this combo (I think Durham and SOAS, post above mentions some other options as well). Also some unis don't take the PS as seriously as LSE, you should ask someone with more knowledge on this than me.
The Cambridge University Tripos system also allows you to combine both subjects.

In what way, I only know of the HSPS and Land economy courses.

Also, what other courses did you apply for if you don't mind me asking?
