I've had the same experience! It's probably to avoid any awkward silences (or at least you perceiving there to be one) and to stop it being so... intimate.

That reminds me of when you go to the dentist and you're lying there with your mouth wide open and the dentist asks out of the blue "so, how's university?" And my reply is usually: "ogg ummphh guuur annggs."

Hahahahaha same. Yeah I understand that, the silence would be unbearable. My doctors hands are always freezing cold too so I was pretty much clenching and cringing every time he went near, err, it :lol:

It's just plain unpleasant!

The dentist one is the worst! I've taken to just giving a thumbs up or a thumbs down! Haha.

Wouldn't care, doctors do this stuff all the time, it's nothing they've not seen before so I don't see a reason to be nervous. Plus I'm not ashamed of 'little Wilfred' or my body in general, tbh.

I don't care if I had a problem down there, it will always be a female doctor rather than that 70 year old GP who looks like Filch from Harry Potter that I have at my local GP centre

I've had both from when I was a kid, I don't really care. It's no fuss, they're doctors, I don't see any difference between them examining my arm and examining my bits.

Honestly i don't mind either. I had a female do it whilst I was actually doing a medical and it was sort of awkward but honestly its nothing they won't have seen before?

I prefer to have a female doctor/nurse for gyno stuff. I know it shouldn't make a difference, but I prefer it; mainly because I think a female physician can 'identify' better with what I'm talking about, rather than just having the appropriate medical knowledge.

I'd prefer female, but i wouldn't really be that bothered either way. I'd just go for whoever could get whatever needed to be done done quicker.

Sometimes I just make funny noises when my dentist asks me a question, without actually trying to say anything. I take the view that if she is going to ask me a question whilst she has her fingers and tools in my mouth, she isn't getting a good answer :tongue:

But sometimes she said 'Are you OK?' halfway through a filling or some kind of procedure, and when you have stuff in your mouth, a 'Yes' and a 'No' sound the same...

Does it really matter, I'm only going there to get cured and at the end of the day male or female their all experienced, know what they're doing and have probably seen both genders privates thousands of times in medical procedures.
