I cannot speak for the Spanish subjunctive, but the German one and its uses turned out to be quite clear (according to grammar books, but colloquial usage may vary...). You might not actually cover it until A2, though, you know.

Apparently Spanish subjunctive is super scary (everywhere)

Pfft...I'm learning the language anyway so the sooner I learn it, understand and use it then the better it will be! I am learning the language first and the qualifications second..if that makes sense.

It does make sense. (If you can get a accurately used subjunctive into an essay, it's always good!)
I didn't look at the answers...but I guess I'm about to reveal that I don't know how to conjugate verbs past the infinitive :colondollar:. Don't laugh, bitte :frown:

ich sage
du sagst
er/sie/es sagt
wir sagen
ihr sägt
sie sagen
Sie sagen

All correct, except for that umlaut. I think you got confused with the du-form of irregular verbs, didn't you?
Now, try that with öffnen- to open, and kaufen- to buy.

ich öffne
du öffnest
er/sie/es/man öffnet
wir öffnen
ihr öffnet
sie öffnen
Sie öffnen

Regular vebs....I get it now :awesome:

ich kaufe
du kaufest
er/sie/es/man kauft
wir kaufen
ihr kauft
sie kaufen
Sie kaufen

The only verb I learned to conjugate was müssen (I hope )

I think it goes like: Ich muss - du musst er/sie/es/man muss wir müssen ihr müsst sie müssen Sie müssen.

But now I realise that "modal verbs" are different from "regular verbs" ><
Just to clarify, I meant that *I hope* that I can conjugate müssen!
(which means to must or to have to )

hmmm might as well have a go at 1 more exercise...

Don't worry, this is why I made the thread and the exercises.

Should I add a modal verb exercise, do you think?
Das Meerschweinchen ____wohnt__ unter meinem Bett (wohnen)
Das Meerschweinchen wohnt unter meinem Bett.
The guinea-pig lives under my bed.

1) Olly und Stefan! Wo _geht___ ihr ? (gehen)
2) Meine Schwester ___liebt__ Schlangen (lieben)
3) Die Königin von England ____kauft_ noch einen Corgi. (kaufen)
4) Meine Eltern ___brauchen_____ ein türkisfarbenes Auto. (brauchen)
5) Der Junge __baut__ einen neuen Computer. (bauen)

I'll add some later.
If I tell you that the vowel sound in sehen to see will change from e to ie, can you write or type it out? This verb will become very important to you in September!

Ich sehe
du siehst
er/sie/es/man sieht
wir sehen
ihr seht
sie sehen
Sie sehen

Did I get them right, miss Octopus?

And now I’d like to remind you of the existence of modal verbs.

(6 of)

müssen - mögen - könnnen - könnnten - werden - wollen - dürfen

Hmmm ich kann es mich nicht mehr sehr gut erinnern!

Soll es nicht 'müssen, mögen, können, dürfen, sollen, wollen' sein? Werden bedeutet 'to become' oder man benutzt 'werden', um zu sagen, was in der Zukunft passieren werden...

Other than that, its a really good idea you're doing this. I ignored my german for a good 3 months after my GCSE exams, and then found AS really difficult!

I haven't even done the GCSE yet! :L

Did you check your answers yourself, or just wait for me? *stern*
This works better if you find out your mistakes as soon as possible.

You put an unnecessary 'e' in. It's du kaufst. Du kaufest is the subjunctive/Konjunctiv, and we're not on that yet!

I think you got confused with some slightly more complicated verbs, which I left out, to prevent confusion!

Verbs like arbeiten or enden, which have a stem ending in t or d, add an e there and two other places to make the words easier to say.

Hence:
ich arbeite
du arbeitest
er/sie/es arbeitet
wir arbeiten
ihr arbeitet
sie arbeiten
Sie arbeiten

As the edit was wrong, I'm going to ignore it, and focus on the perfect set in the post.

WTF? More accidental subjunctives?

As already covered by .snowflake.
