Do you have any allergies ?

Hola !

So, having a first world problem with my allergy yesterday, I was wondering what all you guys on TSR are allergic against and if it affects you a lot in your everyday life.

I am allergic to Avocados, and although I always order my sushi with cucumber, yesterday they forgot and I had to choose between going back, dealing with the symptoms or not eating it. In the end I went back and changed my sushi, and got some free food.

Also I have never met anyone allergic to Avocados, so maybe there is someone on TSR I can share my first world problems with...

How did they find that out without vaccinating you ?

Horses.

I suspect I'm also allergic to other all animal fur, grass, life, & greasy foods.

Can you develop allergy's at any time in your life?
Pollen, greasy foods and hazelnuts - no nutella for me D:

grass - but not as in hayfever, as in if it touches my skin I'll get a crazy rash, Nickel, baby wipes and dust.

those are fun.
In my childhood years I was allergic against a wasp sting. I don't know whether I'm still allergic against a wasp sting, but I don't chance it.

The allergy is the reason why I'm afraid of wasps when they approach. And although it should not be done, I chase the wasps off with flailing hands.
Nope, allergy free...or if I do have an allergy, I haven't found it yet!

I don't even know what I am allergic to :erm: Is there anyway of testing for free or at least not paying over 100 pounds? :K:
Everything. :'(

Tree pollen, cats, bee stings, all nuts (particularly pistachio and cashew, which the allergy specialist said I had the worst reaction to he had ever seen when I was tested), strawberries, sesame, paprika, avocado, courgette... and a load of other random things that will take too long to list.

Nuts are the worst one. Nuts will cause my throat to swell up so that I can't breathe within under a minute (from experience). The other food allergies, at the moment, will make my mouse tingle/swell but I can control them... but I obviously am not going to test it because with more exposure, the worse they get. I carry an epipen.

I am a JOY to feed. My allergies mean I can't eat so many things, largely because of the sesame allergy!

You can get tested on the NHS, but I would assume that is only if you have had reactions in the past, in order to establish firmly what related foods or things you can't eat. In the first instance, they do it with a blood test which only tests for a handful of common allergies e.g. milk, peanut etc. If those are not conclusive (or, in my case, aren't testing for ANY of the things you know you are allergic to), you can be referred to the hospital for skin-prick tests where they will test you against a whole load of different allergens! But I don't think you could have that done for free just because you want to know what you are allergic to.
