you have high standards for food. i'm happy eating a £5 meal at subway or mcdonalds. very tasty and about a tenth of the price of your expensive 3 course restaurant meals with champagne. i dont even like that over-priced alcohol in restaurants.

lol say no more.

You're missing the point again, I could care less what she thinks. Why would I bother eating average meals when I can spend more and have better ones? This is standard.

Because if you got a job with shorter hours you could cook meals yourself that are about as good for £5 and have a whole bottle of wine of the same quality for £10.

You're sacrificing a lot of your life to chase rapidly diminishing returns on consumption. Just about the only reason I can think to have these jobs is to try to become financially independent in as short a time as possible, which means minimising consumption as much as possible.

Why are f***ing A level/first year uni students talking about spending £80 on dinner at restaurant? Get your head out your arses
The fudge are people talking about £80 dinners for their gfs/escorts with impending student loans?

Jesus, I eat like a king in the canteen.

Other disposable income goes towards my coke habit.

Why would you live like you describe to save a couple hundred pounds more when in year 2 you make £150k instead of £70k and in year 3 you make £200k and in year 4 £250k... . The savings you make in year 1 by living like that pale in comparison to future earnings/savings... not 20 years down the line but 1-2 years down the line.

What bank pays their 2nd year analysts £150k please tell me when the GS NY IBD desk earns $120k max all-in.

I don't think you work in the industry mate.

Dont a lot of bankers avoid their taxes anyway?

Maybe the top brass, but us grunt analysts get taxed to the ****ing hilt. I literally tear up everytime I see my PAYE slip.

You clearly don't understand what would happen if the banking sector was ''let'' under water.

We survived/prospered in the past without an inflated banking sector - it is not a prerequisite of a successful society.

Inflated, yes. But there wouldn't be one if no actions had been taken back in 08.
This is all crazy talk, I'm on 28k and live in a house share right next to Canary Wharf (£750pm) and am still saving a few hundy a month. You guys on 60k with no time to spend any of it should be rolling in savings

This is IB&C, pretty sure nobody here cares about what we accountants actually do

That's irrelevant, you still gave your anonymity away so easily for nothing. You might as well put [Redacted] as your username.

Nice self-esteem btw.
