I afraid I got HIV

Hello, 2 weeks ago I have slept which a hooker, I was touring Europe with my friends, and one night we got really drunk and went to a strip club, where I have slept which a hooker, it have happened on the 18th of september. I remember when I was taking a shower there was a little wound from a hair I accidentally ripped off when taking my pants off or which my finger, I don't remember.. I don't remember if it was bleeding or not..

But I'm afraid that her vaginal fluids might have entered that little wound, or even worse if it was an open wound and her vaginal fluids entered it, what are the risks for me to have HIV, and even worse, what if she also had somewhere an open wound??

I'm waiting more 1/2 week before taking HIV test, the HIV test which I'll take will it tell me for sure if I got HIV or not?

I have used a condom, and before we entered bed we both took a shower.. after we finished the ACT, she went to shower.. I didn't take a shower I was drunk as ****..

What are the chances of me getting HIV if her vaginal fluids entered my blood stream through the open wound which I had??

Thank you!
I'd say your risks are tiny, as for one, she didn't definitely have it, and for another, there is only a small chance that the sequence of events you're worried about actually happened. but you have to wait 3 months after the sex for a test to accurately say whether you have it or not.

I was thinking of taking a test the next week, it will be almost 3 weeks after having sex. Will it be accurate or it's beter to wait 3-6months for the most accurate result?

Thank you!!!

By all means, go to the clinic and talk to them, they're the experts and will be able to tell you for definite, they may just ask you to come back after 3 months, thing is if you do take a test and its negative, it could just be that its too early to tell.
Hey, I've got the same concern! I had oral sex over the summer for the first time, twice with two different partners. I'm very worried that I've got something from one of these encounters and I'm worried because I am gay so I think the risks are higher!

I have been trying to organise a visit to the clinic at my university but every time I call they say they have no appointments available for the rest of the week, even though I've been calling every Friday morning at 10am which is when booking opens. I have spent a lot of my phone credit trying to get through and I keep getting rebuffed.

I'm concerned because I have come down with flu on three separate occasions. It is currently the start of a new academic year at uni, so there are lots of bugs and illnesses flying about anyway, but I'm concerned because I've had unprotected sex and I've come down with.

I didn't really know much about the gay AIDS issue and I just had sex because I wanted to try and get over some childhood trauma that has been eating me up for years. I am gay and I did want to have sex, but I find intimacy difficult because of what happened when I was younger, so I wanted to gain some experience that was pleasurable and consenting to help me move on with my life.

Now though, I'm worried that because I naively didn't use protection, not realising how severe the risks are, I might have caught an STI or STD. It could just be freshers' flu, but I have often had flu and I've never had the muscle pain that I've had in the last few days. I don't know what to do to get tested. I don't know how it works, can I go to my GP? Or should I go to A&E?

The university doesn't have a clinic and the clinic is only open two days a week. Every time I try to book an appointment I can't get through because they don't have a queue system so you just have to keep ringing and ringing!

Does anyone have advice! I'm so worried!!!

I'm so worried about being infected... I can barely sleep.. let alone focus on schoo/work/friends.. It's like everything I planned/dreamed hoped for escapes from me...

Go to the gum clinic and explain the situation. They will tell you your options for testing and the risk level. Hopefully that will put your mind at ease. Even if you do have HIV, it is no longer the death sentence it used to be, while not currently curable it is treatable and there would be no reason you couldn't live a full life, but you probably don't have it. Even having unprotected sex with someone who is definitely positive, the risks are low. Worrying won't help. It will just make you paranoid and see every little thing as a sign you have it when it isn't.

I talked which a few people, not doctors, but people who work in the field, I was a combat medic in the Military.. I have talked with people who's job is to prevent disease spread in the military and he told me that my chances are close to zero if not zero to get infected.. But I still take it lightly since I know him pretty well.. served with him for 2 years. He might be saying that just to clam me down. Anyhow, I have decided to take HIV test in 3 months, in mid december.

Thank you Kabloomybuzz.. you made me feel good.. thank you!

I'm got an appointment with my doctor on tuesday, I'll keep you updated, if you want it..

As has been said, you're very very very unlikely to catch HIV from this: you're suffering from guilt.

She is unlikely to be HIV+ (very high levels of condom use mean that far fewer escorts are HIV+ than you think). If she is not, there's obviously no risk.

If she does have HIV, then it's still very very unlikely. The risk to someone who suffers a needlestick injury - eg where someone with HIV has an injection and the needle then ends up jabbing someone by accident - is about 3 in 1,000. This was much, much less risky than that.

Modern tests will confirm your HIV status very reliably in three weeks. With the amount of stress you're putting yourself through, it's probably better not to wait a couple more months. If you want to be ultra cautious, you could test then as well.

It would be quite impossible to give the exact answer. I suggest to wait until you get the final report. Hope so, it would be nothing serious. May God bless you!

It's not your sexual identity that's an issue here, it's the possible behaviour of your partners.

Did they come in your mouth? If not, the HIV risk is nil. If they did, it's not much higher.

The vast majority of oral sex between men happens without using condoms and, as far as HIV is concerned this is reasonable behaviour. There's one study that does some slightly ishy maths to come up with a figure of somewhere between four infections in ten thousand episodes of HIV+ semen ending up in someone's mouth and one in ten thousand. There are studies reckoning that it's lower still.

Unless you're somewhere in the wilds of the countryside (cough, Keele, cough) there will be an NHS sexual health clinic within reach. They might do drop-in clinics or they may want appointments. (They may also do specialist clinics for gay and bisexual men and/or young people, and these are more likely to be drop-ins.) When you go, you also want to have a throat swab to test for the various bacterial infections that are rather easier to catch than HIV, but are curable.

Lol, Cobridge isn't THAT far from Keele! And I wouldn't exactly call Keele in the wilds of the countryside!

Thank you for answering me! I'll take the test in 3 months, I asked my Officer to go with me, as he also suffered from same guilt in the past.. Thank you all!

I really hope that it's only guild and nothing more. It's funny but I'm worried about getting HIV more than I was worried getting shot when I went to a mission.. Anyhow! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!!!

I'll do my best to focus on studying and work, as even if I'm ill, it's not the end of the world...
