Ielts overall 5.5 which university can I get?

Hi,

I need some university in all UK/Irland in which can I enter with this score:

My Academic Ielts:

Listening: 5.5
Reading: 6.0
Writing: 5.0
Speaking: 5.5
Overall 5.5

I know is not good score but I was working.

I'm looking for postgraduate in all UK, about Business/Menagement but anyway I don't want reduce my chance, also cause I know in most case is not enoght score. I need to start in January or February as well.

I couldn't find any universities that would accept IELTS 5.5 for postgraduates courses, even the worst unis in the UK like South Bank or East London want you to have at least 6 to enter.
You should retake the test.

Is there any possibility to be accepted? I have 5 months of work experience as well and no problem of learing. I can't tolerete to lose one year just for 0.5 point

INTO are a company that operate out of a number of universities, including Manchester, UEA and Newcastle. As they specialise in getting international students up to an 'acceptable' level of English language that is required for the course they are studying, they typically accept lower IELTS scores. As an example, I found a graduate diploma course in Business at Newcastle that accepts a score of 5.5-6.0.

There may be similar companies operating out of other universities, so it may well be worth enquiring with the specific universities that you are particularly interested in.

If you need a visa, you are going to need to retake the IELTS test as the UK government requires you to have a minimum of 5.5 overall with no sections below 5.5, so your writing score would make you ineligible for a visa, unless you were willing to pay to do a pre-sessional English course in a university or with a provider like INTO that Bunnyjo mentioned. As you are close to passing, it is almost certainly cheaper to get some help with your writing skills and resit IELTS in your home country. The better your English score is the more university options you have, but more importantly your chances of doing yourself justice in a Masters degree are going to be better.

I was given a conditional offer from London Metropolitan University overall band of 6.0 but I scored 5.5 . I just missed for little. Will the Uni accept me? Pls advice from you experience? thx

go to uni website and check there, every uni has their own rules and requirements

You need to check the entry requirements at specific universities. Every university has its own requirements.
