Brentford name Marinus Dijkhuizen as new head coach. He was in charge of Eredivisie side Excelsior last season.
Well obviously I know next to nothing about him, other than that he led them to the Eredivisie through the play offs. So he has experience of promotion. And I suppose that's good?
Watford edging towards confirming Flores, too.
So, Sheffield United are swapping Nigel for Nigel.
And Rangers (of Scotland) think Stuart McCall's not the man, and are currently in talks with another play-off failure. (The former Brentford boss)
Very good appointment for Sheffield United. I think they've got to be among the favourites to be promoted from League One this term.

I assume you're joking when you refer to him as a play-off failure. That or you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about but you've decided to contribute anyway. We were favourites to go down, so getting to the play-offs and losing isn't really a failure now is it?
Apparently Derby are paying Clement around £20k a week, which would put him on £1m a year. That's a farcical amount of money for a) somebody who has never had a number one job before, and b) is managing a side in the second-tier of English football.
Seems a little quiet on this thread now the season is over, so I've bumped the best and worst grounds thread if anyone is interested.

Bury sign Leon Clarke. Huge statement of intent from them. Crikey. That is bound to be one of the most surprising signings of the summer window, and we're barely in June.

Wonder how much they had to offer him to get him to sign, money is his only motivation.

Tbh, not really. But we're probably just going to sign a bunch of Dutch players!
Lol that Danny ****tu is censored.
Ha, yeah, apparently we're close to signing Kamohelo Mokotjo from Twente. Not Dutch, but he'll only qualify for a work permit here through having lived in the Netherlands while playing over there.

Lots of strikers on that list who would score plenty in L1.

Somebody's surely got to pick up the Hunt brothers from Ipswich.

Lol at the goal poacher Clarke, although tbf he does well everywhere else. Also Doyle was on a pre contract with Colorado so we didn't technically release him.

Yeah, I just lifted the list from major news sites. Players like Beckford are technically being released, although there's no real doubt to him being at Preston when the season starts.
