what degree could I do which leads to a specific career with my a levels which are maths, history, psychology and economics?

history/maths degree and go into teaching?
business/ economics degree?
financial maths degree?
psychology degree to become a psychologist/counsellor etc?
law degree, become barrister/lawyer, many other career options

Most 17 year olds havn't got the faintest idea what they might do for a job so don't worry, you are very normal!

Start thinking about what you enjoy doing most - both inside and outside school - what is it about those things that you enjoy? Practical (doing it) or theory (thinking about it)? Look at some general jobs websites (like http://www.indeed.co.uk/) and look at the sort of jobs available in those areas. Look at what training or experience you need for that role. Remember, you don't have to 'go to Uni' for the majority of jobs. So look at what sort of courses are available at your local college or at apprenticeships etc.http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/
