Anyone know the advantages and disadvantages of mass spectrometry?

I can't find any on the internet, could anyone help me? Maybe even send a link?

Because it is an instrumental method, it is advantageous because it is very accurate, fast and sensitive (to be specific, it can detect the substances leaving the end of the column very quickly and accurately and can detect very small quantities). Also, it can give the relative molecular mass of each substance separated in the column which will help you identify the substances present. I'm pretty sure that's what it says in my revision guide (it might not be exact because I just wrote it from memory). Although, I don't know if someone has anything different to add?

Very expensive to purchase? Like some cost over £10'000.

i'm not sure if this is a disadvantage but you would need to be trained to use one
