Working abroad with an English Law degree?

Hey,

I'm writing this post out of curiosity more than anything else.

Can a lawyer who holds an English law degree become a lawyer in another country without having to do any extra studying?

No.

A lawyer can. But you are not a lawyer. Not with just an English law degree. You can go work for an international firm, transfer over to Singapore/somewhere in Asia. If for a US firm, somewhere in the US.

Otherwise forget the states unless you have a JD. Most jurisdictions require something equivalent to the QLTT..plus some extra exams...(if you're not being transferred by your London law firm).

Very vague question...the short answer is still no. The long answer is how long is a piece of string.

Edit: One of the reasons I wish I did medicine!
