Help choosing earphones?

Was looking for some under £20 and these 2 seem the best (or they're pretty popular anyways)

1) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Mid-Range-In-Ear-Headphones-Smartphone-Black/dp/B004NRNMII/ref=sr_1_1?s

2) http://www.amazon.co.uk/JVC-HAFX1X-Xtreme-Xplosives-Headphones-black-red/dp/B004S7Q8CA/ref=zg_bs_10395651_2

Which one of these is better or are there any other you recommend for that price level?

Defo the sony ones.

Posted from TSR Mobile
I had the Sony ones. They broke after about three months but were good quality.

If I were you though, I'd beg, borrow and (not) steal money to get some beats. I've got the £230 ones and it's like a concert in my ear. Although I've tried the £130 ones and they're unbelievable as well. Much, much, much better than the standard ones.

(This is a joke btw. Beats are overpriced rubbish)

Although if you're adamant on sticking to a budget, then the Sony ones are pretty good.

The best regarded options for sub-£20 are;
*Philips TX1 & TX2. Philips have made tremendous improvements to their audio lines in the last couple of years and their new low end offerings have been very well received. The cheapest headphones to have received the Wall of Fame award from acclaimed audiophile site Innerfidelity.
*VSonic consistently produce fantastic, cost effective IEMs, and the VSonic GR02 and GR99 can both be found for under £25. Easiest to find from Hong Kong storefronts on eBay, although there's no reason to worry about buying from them if you find one with good reputation.
*The Monoprice 8320 are better sounding than the vast majority of sub-£30 headphones, the only pairs that really beat them are the ones I've listed above, and they less than cost a fiver from Amazon. Build quality is basic and they're pretty chunky, but they sound damn good and they're dirt cheap. Throw in some Comply T-400s for improved comfort and isolation and you've got something that puts most entry level IEMs to shame.

If you'd rather not go with those, Sony's low end stuff is typically decent. Only buy the Xplosives if your music tastes are limited solely to really bass heavy genres. And I would strongly recommend against the above suggestion to save up for Beats- save up for better headphones by all means, but Beats are notorious for offering poor value for money compared to most other headphone brands existing in this premium audio space.

That better be a joke, this is what the audio world thinks of them :puke:

People think they are good, but reality isn't true.........it is essentially a fashion brand, the far majority of buyers are non-audio people, they have never ever spent so much money on a pair of headphones before and are comparing the quality of it to what they used to use which were usually cheap headphones or the generic ones you get with phones.

Beats are horrible, the sound leak is absolutely disgusting.
I'm trolling of course. Beats are absolute dog poo.

I've got iE80s from Sennheiser. Best earphones money can buy IMO.

Still can't decide :frown:

Searched around and found a few more "requirements"
How about around £30 but with foamy earbuds and a symmetric cable (I looked at the CX300's but the cable put me off :frown: )

I still say go with the Philips or VSonic headphones I recommended previously, then buy the right set of Comply Foams from Amazon separately (Comply's website has a guide to which size of foam tips fit on an enormous range of headphones, so all of these options are probably there). The Soundmagic E10s come third.

I think these ones are cool as ****. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004MMG39E - only just over £10 too.
If you're willing to stretch around £5-10 more, I found the Sennheiser CX-175s to have excellent quality for their price range.

I have the dunu trident's and they've been great for a year plus. I'd recommend it and it now comes under £20
I have the SoundMagic E10 in-ear phones. They're pretty tidy things - certainly better than the Monoprice earphones (which I owned prior to these - though they are definitely worth buying as a second spare set) - really nice sound to them and a genuinely tangle free cable. Bass is nice, mids and trebles are crisp. Very good.

£30 on amazon.
