Hi  I took the Environmental Studies A-Level. It was my favourite subject. It's absolutely fascinating; you get to learn about real environmental problems but also solutions. Everything you learn you can see around you wherever you are- sustainable agriculture in the countryside, ecosystems and food webs, pollution controls, etc. You can also bring in any of your own knowledge to the course and use it in exams; unlike most subjects, so long as your information is accurate, you don't have to stick exactly to the examples you use in lessons. The exams are designed to allow you to show off what you do know, rather than than what you don't. One of the best things is that the teachers, in my experience, are very enthusiastic about the subject. After all, it's fairly specialised, so only those with a genuine interest in it go into teaching it. The text book is also very well written which is hugely helpful when it comes to revision. (The man who wrote it was one of my teachers. He wrote it so that it would be easy to split into topics and subtopics to aid your revision.)

As for difficulty, it depends what you mean by "hard", I think. There is a lot to remember as the course is very broad, but the style of the course and the exams means that it shouldn't be overwhelming. If you're interested in the subject then you should certainly have no problem! If there's an open day at the college you want to go to, it would be a good idea to go and speak to current students and teachers. I hope that helps!
Yep i loved it! But some unis think its a "soft" subject and don't accept it for some courses so be careful.
Here are my notes, it might be a good idea to look over the content and decide whether it's something for you:

Good luck
I'm currently studying this, I've looked round unis and the ones I'm interested in at least have no problems with it however its certainly not on the same level as your biology/chem etc in terms of difficulty or appreciated by a uni.
