Erm nope haven't got anything ha! Apart from new clothes, which obviously came before the practical things

That's good about your transfer! Drinks on you if I visit Cardiff haha. Good luck with the move x

Yeah they're crazy expensive, can only manage it first year anyway with the bursary. Next year I'll be downsizing ha! I'm going to try and go to the mature thing Sunday night, at the Balloon Bar and I think it's Monday on the timetable, where there's a mature introduction and study skills thing.

Aw there seems like there's loads of people doing biology! You're lucky, I'm yet to find another civil engineer. You on fb? x

I don't blame you haha, definitely save yourself some money in second year. Yea I'm going to try and make it to the Sunday night event as well.
Really? I swear, I haven't seen hardly anyone who is doing biology yet haha. No, I'm actually not on fb any more, I deleted my account a while ago. The only social media I do use now is Instagram. x
What are you currently studying/have studied. Access to H.E. Computing
Which universities are you applying to. Kings, Goldsmith, Westminster, Middlesex
Which course(s) do you want to do. Computer Science
Any other info you feel like sharing. I'm 24

Got into Westminster but wanted to go Kings or Goldsmiths. I barely missed out on Kings, couldn't get a clearing offer with Goldsmith because Kings decided they would wait for my Maths GCSE result (Even though they knew I couldn't get the B they wanted after I got placed on Maths Foundation for being a mature student )

Worried about the rep of being at a "lower uni". Hoping that taking a year in industry will help or perhaps a transfer to another uni after year 1 if I am on track for a 1st degree, although I find this highly unlikely in terms of switching. Kings said I could but I'd be put back at year 1 anyways, murrrrrr

Ah that's why you haven't seen them all then, there's a fb freshers page (you're not actually missing out on much don't worry!) and there seems loads of biology, law and physcology students on there. Yeah I'm more Instagram these days too, add me if you want laurenford27. I'll let you know if it seems like many are going Sunday, from Colston St anyways  x
What are you currently studying/have studied. Access to H.E. Health
Which universities are you applying to. Uni of Nottingham
Which course(s) do you want to do. Physiotherapy
Any other info you feel like sharing. I'm 34

Hi, so glad I found this group! I'm ranging from being really nervous to really excited about starting in September. Everybody on the Facebook group looks so young! As I'll be commuting from home every day I'm a bit anxious about missing out on lots of opportunities for socialising and making new friends. I'll probably be like the mum of the group, hope they don't mistake me for one of the lecturers on my first day lol! X

Hey, it was pretty intense and more work than I expected but I completed it with 45 distinctions in the end which was such a shock considering it done nothing academically since 97! If you are prepared for some hard work and tight deadlines then you will be fine  I really enjoyed it to be honest, well most of it at least!

As you probably know, competition for physio places is really competitive and I would recommend you spend plenty of time making sure your personal statement is right, don't leave it till the last minute lol!

Good luck and I'll hopefully see you next year. If you need any help or advice along the way I'll be happy to answer any questions

Hi Rachel, I'm 25 and I'll also be studying at Nottingham. Have you considered going to the mature student kickstart event? Failing that, there's also a mature student society. Feel free to send me a PM

Hi, I'm not sure how to send a pm lol! I've only just learnt how to do the quote thing haha! I would have loved to go to kickstart but I'm away when it's on so I'm going to miss out, I'm sure that would have eased any anxieties I have. The mature students society sounds like a great idea though, I'll look into that, thank you. What will you be studying at Notts?

I got a place at my second choice uni (Greenwich) studying biomedical science with a foundation year. Might not sound like a big deal to some people but I suffered a mental breakdown in March 2014, I was completely unable to work until Jan 2015 and then had to go back to full time work to pay my mortgage but my studies suffered as a result, and I only started therapy in July this year so I'm super happy and proud of myself. ^_^

Also, I started studying for (as in first time picking up a book, not revising for) one of my exams less than 12 hours before I was due to sit the paper and that included time to sleep overnight. I got an E and an overall D in the subject which sort of shocked me! I know that looks bad on paper but if I can do that with so little work (I did some work for the other paper but covered less than half of the stuff) I'm optimistic about full time study.

Thank you for the reply! Any words of wisdom for the access course it's self? Looks like you smashed it! e
Everyone has told me to start now on the personal statement, so I need to get my finger out.
Thank you. I really enjoyed the open day at Notts, so I will be putting down for it.

You doing an access course? Best advice I can give is don't leave your assignments to the last minute, always have a good draft assignment ready so you can get good feedback and always ask the teacher what THEY are looking for in order to aim for Distinction.

Totally agree with the above comments about the access course and in addition I would say plan your time effectively. I don't know about everyone else but assignments for each subject were due in around the same time everytime. At first I would spend far too long concentrating on one and then not leaving myself much time to complete the others. I ended up making up a timetable so I concentrated on biology during the morning one day and psychology in the afternoon for instance and planned it out over the week like that. I found this much easier to get everything in on time plus it stops you going brain dead after spending an entire day on one subject!

Well they do always say you have to be a bit nuts to do biomedical science.
Well here goes, I think might be the oldest for 2015 mature starters...lolxx

What are you currently studying/have studied.Just completed Level 5 Diploma, Management adult services

Which universities are you applying to.Swansea Uni, September 2015

Which course(s) do you want to do. Law

I am 48 years old and extremely proud of myself for feeling confident enough to achieve my goal of achieving my LLB Hons Degree. - I will do it.

Any other info you feel like sharing. Never feel it is too late. Even though we are older, we have as much right to academic study as the school leavers. I was a young mother so could not continue education. I have always known I wanted to work in the legal profession but as time went on I felt that maybe my chance had passed me by. My son studied Law and is now a practicing solicitor in Cardiff, and I done Open University and went in to social care. I loved my work and done a lot of qualifications, but never felt a sense of achievement. I still read the law reports and always an avid reader of all things Law but it has taken me until now to say, you know what, I am not going to live with regret. I applied to uni in March, and i be leaving my job shortly. This is it, this is my time. So I am living proof, it is never too late. I am extremely nervous to be in a room full of 20 somethings, but i will work hard and i hope i might inspire some of the younger ones, i will certainly be trying to beat them for the monetrary prizes that are available for the end of year 1 highest graded student..lol If they underestimate me, I will deffo beat them lol..Good luck to you all, remember this...Believe, and you will Achieve.xxxx

The rest I have quoted I fully agree, especially about that first month with the students younger than our own kids... but I believe we will settle in just fine, anmd I agree we have loads to offer in every way!

Congrats on your entry, hope it is a fantastic period in your life!
