If you haven't already applied then you don't need to worry about modules. The subject, psychology in your case, is broken down into 6 modules a year, like A levels are.

Kingers, where have you been for the past year? You have no idea about life?

Each year of your degree is broken down into 6 modules. Most/all of these will be from your chosen subject - you may however get the choice to choose some 'electives', where you can pick modules from other subjects. If you just want to do psychology, there will (presumably) be enough level 1 psych modules to fill all the gaps. Check the faculty handbook for more info, though.

Have you already applied? Do you hold an offer from Durham?
Reply 8
yes, i am going in like 3 weeks
You are just studying psychology, but there'll be more than one subject area, hence different modules. You get taught each area by a specialist in it. This is standard practise at university level, much like having 2 teachers for each subject at A-level.
I'm quite worried that you know so little about the course you've taken...

you're worried, im worried..

I know what a module is and i know that there are different ones. Im just not sure if i was meant to select which ones i want for example cognitive psychology and social psychology, or whether it is decided what i will be learnign already.

I know in the 3rd year you have a choice of the modules you are taking, but im not sure about 1st or 2nd year.

I also know that you can take other subjects as i was thinking about doign geography or philosophy, yet i wasnt sure if you were able to do this in the 1st year.

If you didn't know all of this info, you have left it a bit late to find out. Nonetheless:

You are on the course you applied for, presumably. If you applied for pure psychology, then you're doing pure psychology. You can take modules in other subject areas and still get a pure psych degree. If you want. You don't have to. But you can. Usually. But check the department website/faculty handbook for more info on your particular course.

As for modules:

Each year of your degree is broken down into 6 modules.
