How difficult is the Further Maths A-Level and how can I prepare well for it?

Further Maths is one of those subjects where you either excel or crash. If you really get maths, and the logic just clicks, it is possibly one of the easiest A-Levels to get an A* in. However, if you had to work really hard at GCSE to get the A*, you may find it hard to achieve a good grade. Though almost everyone who does F-Maths ends up with an A/A* in regular maths, and 56% of all F-Maths applicants achieve A/A*.
Luckily I 'got' maths, and got A*A*.

The individual module textbooks were my best resource, learning directly from the worked examples. In fact, the teachers literally copied the worked examples to the whiteboards. MyMaths helped for D1.

It also helps if you know which modules you are good at - I found I was better at the Pure and Mechanics modules , and not that great at Decision and Statistics :s-smilie:; It helps decide what areas to specialise in. Do you know which modules you are taking?
I recommend doing at least one from each category for AS, and specialise next year.
