Edinburgh vs. King's for music?

I am an American student applying to music courses in the UK. I am mostly interested in academic areas of music (theory, history, and composition), and my ultimate goal is to pursue postgrad studies in music, either in the UK or the US. Thus I am looking for both (a) a strong music department, and (b) international reputation. My top two choices as of now are Edinburgh and King's...are there any others I should be considering? Between those two, which would be a better choice? I'd love to hear any thoughts/feedback you guys have!
Kings's is by far the more prestigious department. Though you might wanna check out the course content of both places. I know when I was applying (in 2006), there was something really weird about the first year at KCL... I think you couldn't offer composition for your exams or something really bizarre like that! So do check it out quite carefully
