Law Masters?

I am currently undertaking a BA Hons English Literature and Language degree from the Open University and am thinking about what I want to do after I have finished. One route I am considering is a masters in law (the university being dependent on my grades). What I would like to know is, if I did do this, what would be the typical next steps in regards to a career in the subject? Would I have to make up for the fact that I wouldn't have a law degree? Or would the masters supersede the need for one ?

I am afraid I don't have any answers for you, but rather a similar question.

I want to become a barrister after I complete my undergraduate degree in Law, and am wondering whether a masters would be a useful addition before pupillage.
