Passed CBT - what next?

I'm working my way towards being able to ride any motorbike, am 18 at the moment and have 'passed' CBT, what's the next step?

As far as I know:

- I now take lessons and then take my 'first bike test'
(which will allow 125cc with no L plates and allow a passenger)

- Then wait two years and my lisense is updated automatically
and I'll be allowed to ride 650cc bikes for example.

I doubt it is this easy but would appreciate any pointers.
How much lessons and tests cost for motorbikes?

Cheers

Wrong. You take lessons and pass your A2 bike test, allowing you to ride a bike of any capacity as long as it makes no more than 33hp (generally by being restricted). After two years the restrictors are taken out and you can ride any motorbike.

As for cost, my lessons were £25 per hour, very expensive, but then i only needed 6 (and two tests). It generally depends on how long you're willing to wait, if you've already got a 125cc bike then it might be worth riding around on it for 6 months or so and learning the rules of the road. The more time you spend independently learning the less money you'll need to spend to pass your test. You'll also be a lot more confident.

I did my CBT at 17, had a 125 for about 9 months and then passed my test when i was 18 and got a Bandit 600. Let me know if you've got anymore questions.
