Would it look stupid to do a BTEC online?

I'm Homeschooled...

I'm thinking of Back-Up Plans ( alongside my (I)GCSE's..), you can do a BTEC Sport Science via Distance Learning but would it look stupid to employers doing this instead of doing it at a College ?

I mean my aunty got offered a job by someone because she was 'right for the job' but she needed to have a Degree ( which she didn't have ) so she did one via Open University but isn't that like Different anyway ?

I mean people studying for a Sport Science course in College wouldn't they be doing like extra coaching qualifications alongside anyway ?
