Should the European countries apologise for their colonial past?

I would say no. People are quick to criticise colonialism but seem to forget looking at the world 200 years ago through today's norms is always flawed. The world was different 200 years ago, countries either had to build up an empire, or risk becoming part of someone else's empire.

Austria also disagrees with such statement. While many have exaggerated in the way they've exercised their imperialism, the world shall not hold back to mistakes and instead assure excessive exploration doesn't happen in the future.

[OOC] I agree with Nigel Farage MEP and Fernand126, its time to move on from the past and build a world characterized by collaboration and friendly competition.
Canada, including Québec, does not seek an apology from the UK nor France.

Mexico does not see the point of this. We have maintained a positive relationship with Spain, and so an apology is not on the cards for us.
Belgium considers that actions to reduce the impact of the legacy of their colonial past and those of other countries to be a far better action than an apology. The apology given by the Australian Prime MInister about the treatment of the indigenous Australians (Aborigines) referred to actions that directly affected the living and perhaps were a unique set of circumstances.
