Well, we've only just started it...like last week.

I'm still confused with what Marxists and Functionalists (generally) say about crime.

what about OCR :frown:
What about OCR?

It doesn't attract students in sufficient numbers to make the considerable effort to produce materials worthwhile...

Hi Chris,

Just to say I used your site extensively last year while doing Sociology on my Access course and it was very useful. I am returning to study with the OU later in the year and cover some sociology in the course so no doubt I will be back again.

Thanks for all your hard work - it is really appreciated.
I am also an extensive user of Chris's site for my access course, my tutor is fantastic but i use the site for those bits i just dont understand, that being said i'm really struggling with my femminists versus functionalists essay..

I’m in the process of creating some revision materials for A-level Sociology and would be interested in any feedback from students and teachers (good, bad or indeed indifferent).

They’re free to download and, at the moment, they include:

AS Sociology

Introduction to Perspectives
Research Methods
Mass Media (only ownership and control at present)

A2 Sociology

Power and Politics (always a popular option at A2  )

You can get them while they’re still hot from:

http://www.sociology.org.uk/drevise.htm

You can find them under AS Sociology [AQA] and A2 Sociology [AQA]

This is an amazing website, I will definately be reccommending it to my teachers. I really hope that it is finished soon. Well done.
Unfortunately, because it's all free I have to earn a living doing stuff for which I get paid - and when it comes to a choice between spending time on earning money for food or spending time on free stuff the former usually wins.

Just at the moment I'm having to spend time working in the paid world (athough some people might not recognise sitting at a computer all day writing twaddle into a wordprocessor as "real work") so the free stuff is on hold.

Which is a shame.
im doing theory and methods for sociology A2!
need all the help i can get!!!!!!! so if you know any sites please lemme know!
thnx!
This is fairly basic - but covers some major revision points: http://www.sociology.org.uk/kc2_home.htm

Lot of interesting revision stuff here: http://followyourstar.zxq.net/growing/soc/contents.html

Key concepts here: http://www.sociology.org.uk/drevise.htm

Some theory revision cards: http://www.sociology.org.uk/downcard.htm

An interesting revision site that's worth a visit: http://www.getrevising.co.uk/

BTW: Since you dredged it up I can't believe this thread has has 7,500 views (do I win a prize?).

has some really good stuff on crime and deviance, especially the '101 synoptic links' which is really in depth and sells in book shops for about eight quid. It isnt illegal to download though it's rachel (who is a teahcer at my college) and her husband who wrote it, and she's made it available and free for her own students.
