Hi all, My name is Lee and I'm a trans guy. I've applied to Keele and set it as my firm choice to study Law this September, and I was just wondering how trans friendly this uni is? Are there any LGBT groups or societies?

I have definitely seen posters for an active LGBT society around campus, and there are a few gender-neutral loos dotted around, which is not exactly the biggest issue at hand, but gives a small indication of trans-friendly sentiment. Sorry that I can't be more helpful.
While I cannot speak for trans specifically, I know that the LGBT society at Keele is relatively large and can be quite active. There are a large number of gender-neutral toilets both in the Student's Union and Chancellors Building. I am unsure if other locations are as equipped. I have not heard of any sort of prejudiced behaviour directed at members of LGBT.
If you want a better answer, perhaps contact them directly?
I'm not trans, but the LGBT society hosts weekly socials, and I know there are a fair few trans, genderfluid and other-identifying people at Keele, so you won't be alone
My name is Jodie I'm a recent graduate at Keele University and now work in the Student Services Centre. I hope you will find this page useful to find out about the support in place at Keele for trans students: http://www.keele.ac.uk/studentgroups/lgbt/.
