A2 Eating behaviour - Boundary model

Hi

Can someone please explain to me why this is:

''Dieters tend to have a greater range between hunger and satiety, as it takes them longer to get hungry and more food to reach satiety.''

Why? - Surely it takes dieters less time to get hungry because they eat less, therefore there's less range between their self-imposed food intake and hunger?
I think this an issue of semantics. Ignore what where it says 'it takes them longer to get hungry'--what I think this means is that they will avoid eating for long periods of time, even when they are hungry.

The important information here is that dieters have a greater range between hunger and satiety. The range is greater because it takes more food for them to be satisfied, i.e. the non-dieter will reach satiety after eating 10 grapes and the dieter will be satisfied after eating 20.

I've put it in a diagram that shows the range is greater, where dots represent grapes, and I've put an 'l' to represent the dieter's cognitive boundary

Non-dieter
<Hunger>..........<Satiety>

Dieter
<Hunger>.....l...............<Satiety>
